On Assembly elections in Telangana, State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj says, "We will send central forces to polling stations identified as 'critical'. Elections in five states are drawing to a close with ten days remaining and only two more states left to vote: Rajasthan on November 25 and Telangana on November 30. The polls to the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held on Friday, along with the second phase of polling in Chhattisgarh for the remaining 70 seats.


Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Tuesday that "PM means Panauti Modi," implying that the Prime Minister brings bad luck. Speaking at a rally in Rajasthan, Gandhi used the word in reference to India's loss in the cricket World Cup final against Australia. PM Modi attended the ICC World Cup final match at the Ahmedabad stadium named after him. The word 'panauti' has been trending on social media. During the rally, Gandhi also claimed that PM Modi diverts people's attention while Adani, the entrepreneur, takes their money.


He claimed Modi "comes on TV and says 'Hindu-Muslim,' and occasionally attends a cricket match. "It's a different matter that the match was lost. Panauti." "PM means Panauti Modi," Gandhi went on to say.


On Tuesday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot released the Congress manifesto for the assembly elections. In its manifesto for the Assembly polls in Rajasthan, the grand old party has promised a caste survey, interest-free loans up to Rs 2 lakh to farmers, and 10 lakh job opportunities.


The party also promised recruitment at the panchayat level and a special law to implement MSP according to the recommendations made by the Swaminathan Commission.


The Congress also promised to double the amount given to beneficiaries under the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 50 lakh annually and provide an interest-free loan of up to Rs 5 lakh to small traders, shopkeepers, and young entrepreneurs. Congress Party President Mallikarjun Kharge released the manifesto. Gehlot, PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra, chairman of the manifesto committee CP Joshi, former deputy CM Sachin Pilot, and other leaders were also present during the launch at the PCC office in Jaipur.
