Criteria For Recognition Of National Political Party In India

A political party must be recognized in at least four states to be considered a national party, and it must win at least two seats and 6% of the votes cast in the Assembly election to be considered a state party. To put it another way, the AAP needs to win just two seats and get 6% of the votes in today's election. After eclipsing Congress as the second-largest party in Surat municipal polls in 2021 with about 28% of the vote, the AAP put on a good show.
