NEW DELHI: In the poll-bound state of Rajasthan and Telangana, campaigning for the Assembly will reach its final stage today while Polling in both the states will be held on Friday. Today, PM Narendra Modi will hold two rallies in Rajasthan, first rally in Sumerpur town of Pali district, followed by another in Dausa district while Rahul Gandhi will conduct a rally in Telangana. On Tuesday, Modi had conducted rallies in Sikar and Jaipur in Rajasthan.

In Rajasthan, there are 200 assembly seats in Rajasthan and election for 199 seats would be held on December 7 as the polling for one seat has to be postponed due to the death of a BSP candidate. Votes would be counted on December 11. Raje formed the state government with a massive majority in the 2013 assembly elections, in which the BJP had won a record 163 seats and the Congress could get just 21. The BSP had got three seats, while independents and candidates of other parties won 13.

While in Telangana, In the 2014 Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had won nine seats, Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) seven, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) five and Telangana's ruling party Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) had won three seats. The TDP and the BJP were in an alliance in 2014. For the upcoming Telangana Assembly polls, the N Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP has struck an electoral pact with the Congress. In the December 7 election, all the nine MLAs of the TDP, who had left the party subsequently, are contesting on TRS tickets.

The assembly elections counting will be held on December 11.
