Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday said, "Samajwadi Party, Congress want to weaken country’s fight against terrorism. Leaders of both parties in past batted for release of people involved in acts of terror."
Addressing a large public gathering at Hardoi, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday said, "What benefit has BJP govt given in last 5 yrs? They talk about religion, Pakistan & terrorism, but won't talk about terror of unemployment & inflation. People don't have money for food & they divert our mind towards religion & Pakistan."
"The Modi-Yogi govt provided free vaccines to 28 crore people in UP. Akhilesh Yadav tried to remove charges on terrorists in 2013, but the court asked him "today you want to release the terrorists, will you give them Padma Bhushan tomorrow?" said Union Minister Anurag Thakur during a poll rally in Banda, UP.

Taking a swipe at SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday at BJP's poll rally in Sitapur said, "I am wearing specs, can see through clearly... Akhilesh babu also wears a specs but of religion and caste."

In an indication of the closing of ranks within the Mulayam Singh Yadav clan, the Samajwadi Party has named ally Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohiya) chief Shivpal Singh Yadav in the new list of star campaigners. The move comes close on the heel of the Mulayam clan hitting the campaign trail together for the former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav in his Karhal Assembly constituency. Shivpal's name was missing in the list of campaigners released by the Samajwadi Party released ahead of the Assembly elections.
The SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, who campaigned for his son in the Karhal constituency, will continue to lead the campaigning for the party in the remaining phases of the seven-phased polls, according to the sources within the alliance parties. Other prominent names in the new list include party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Dimple Yadav, Ram Gopal Yadav, Kiranmoy Nanda, and Swami Prasad Maurya, who had left the BJP to join the SP weeks ahead of the polls.

The Election Commission on Sunday issued a notice to a BJP candidate in Uttar Pradesh for allegedly making an inflammatory statement, and said he prima facie violated the model code and the electoral law.
The poll watchdog gave Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh, the BJP candidate from the Tiloi assembly constituency in Amethi, 24 hours to respond.
According to the transcript of a purported video clip made part of the notice, Singh broadly said in Hindi that "...if you have to live in India, (you will have) to chant 'Radhey-Radhey', else like all those who went to Pakistan during Partition, you can go too...you are not needed here."
The video is being circulated on social media, the EC said.
The commission noted that an FIR was lodged against Singh on February 18 under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act.
Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is all set to visit the Uttar Pradesh capital of Lucknow today amid the ongoing seven-phase UP assembly elections. Kejriwal will address public meetings in Ramnagar, Lucknow and Barabanki, the party had tweeted.

Campaigning for the fourth phase of UP elections will end today at 6 pm as polling is set to take place on February 23 for 60 assembly seats across 9 districts.
In terms of campaigning, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold public meetings in Pilibhit, Sitapur, and Barabanki districts. Later, he will hold organisational meeting in Varanasi.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath will address public meetings in Hardoi, Rae Bareli, and Lucknow today.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani is set to address two public meetings in UP's Prayagraj today.
On the other hand, Samajwadi Party President and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav will visit Hardoi, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, and Amethi.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will hold public meetings in Lucknow.

Notably, Congress is set to organise Shakti Yatra in assembly constituencies across UP. According to Congress, this yatra will be held in the spirit of women empowerment and women's power fighting against injustice and inequality. Under the leadership of Priyanka Gandhi, the party is has been promoting its 'Girl Hoon Lad Sakti Hoon' campaign.
The fourth phase of the UP election will cover 9 districts including Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Lucknow, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Fatehpur, Banda.
With eyes on Manipur Elections, Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi will campaign in Imphal. He will pay floral tributes to martyrs at Shaheed Minar, followed by tribute at Nupi Lal Memorial.
The Wayanad MP is set to address a public meeting in the capital city Imphal.
The state elections in Manipur will be held in two phases on February 28 and March 5.
