Election 2022 LIVE: UP CM Yogi Promises Purohit Welfare Scheme If BJP Re-Elected

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday promised the launch of the Purohit Welfare Board in the state for the welfare of priests, sadhus and special scholarship for students studying Sanskrit if the BJP is re-elected to power. Election 2022 Live Updates: PM Modi To Address Rally In Manipur's Heingang Today

The focus now shifts to the Manipur assembly and the 5th phase of the UP assembly election 2022. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address one public meeting each in Manipur and UP today. 

At 11 am, PM Modi will address people of the Heingang Assembly of Manipur, while at 3.35 pm he will be addressing a gathering in Bahraich, UP.

Assembly Election 2022 LIVE Updates: Hello and welcome to ABP Live blog to find all the latest news from the polling battlegrounds of Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.

The high-decibel campaigning for the fourth phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls came to end on Monday. The fourth phase of polling on February 23 will decide the fate of 624 candidates in 59 Assembly segments in the districts of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Unnao, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Banda, and Fatehpur.

Of the 59 seats, the BJP had won 51 in the 2017 Assembly elections, four had gone to the Samajwadi Party, and three to the Bahujan Samaj Party. The BJP's ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) had bagged one seat.

Lakhimpur, which had hogged national news headlines after eight people, including four farmers, were killed in violence on October 3 will go to the polls in the fourth phase.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting in Heingang, Manipur. Manipur will go to the polls in two phases on February 28 and March 5.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah will campaign in Pratapgarh and Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.
