In Himachal Pradesh Bypolls, Congress won from Kutlehar, Garget, Sujanpur, and Lahaul & Spiti. BJP won in Barsar, Dharamshala. In Jharkhand, former Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren's wife won from Gandey.Six assembly seats, including Dharamshala, Lahaul-Spiti, Sujanpur, Barsar, Gagret and Kutlehar, saw crucial votes counted. The bypolls that happened alongside the Lok Sabha elections were necessitated after the disqualification of six Congress MLAs for disobeying the party whip. The MLAs, Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Rajinder Rana, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Chaitanya Sharma and Devinder Kumar, had refused to obey the party's direction to be present in the House and vote in favour of the Congress government during the discussion on the State Budget.Gujarat bypolls: Five assembly constituencies voted to elect new representatives as the incumbent MLAs joined the BJP. These seats are Vijapur, Khambhat, Manavadar, Porbandar, and Vaghodia.Haryana bypolls: The Karnal seat, vacated by former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, will see a new legislator with sitting CM Nayab Singh Saini contesting the seat.Bihar bypolls: A key byelection will determine the new representative from Agiaon seat where CPI (M-L) legislator Manoj Manji was disqualified after being sentenced to life imprisonment in a murder case. Uttar Pradesh bypolls: BJP MLA from Duddhi, Ram Dular, was disqualified after he was convicted in a rape case. This seat will see a new legislator. Bypolls were also held in Gainsari, Lucknow East, and Dadraul assembly seats that fell vacant after the death of sitting MLAs Shiv Pratap Yadav (SP), Ashutosh Tandon (BJP), and Manavendra Singh (BJP), respectively. West Bengal bypolls: The Baranagar seat's bypoll followed the resignation of Trinamool Congress MLA Tapas Roy who joined the BJP. Himachal Bypoll Results: High Stakes Battle Between BJP & Congress For 6 Seats After Disqualification Of MLA Post RS Polls

The Himachal Assembly bypoll elections results will see a high stakes battle between BJP and Congress. The bypolls were carried out after six Congress MLAs were disqualified post the Rajya Sabha elections in the state on grounds of defection. These six rebel MLAs have contested the seats from BJP. 

On February 27, the six rebel Congress MLAs crossvoted for the BJP’s Harsh Mahajan in the Rajya Sabha elections. Congress party’s candidate, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, was defeated despite the grand old party having a full majority in the 68-member Himachal. After the rebellion by 6 Congress MLAs, the Congress government faced threat as the Opposition BJP called for CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s resignation.

All six rebel Congress MLAs are in the fray again but on a BJP ticket. The six rebel leaders in the fray are Rajinder Rana, Sudhir Sharma, Devinder Kumar Bhutto, Chaitanya Sharma, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal and Ravi Thakur. CM Sukhu has alleged that they accepted “crores" for selling their integrity to BJP.

Gujarat Bypolls Results 2024: Counting To Begin At 8 Am

Gujarat bypolls: Five assembly constituencies Vijapur, Khambhat, Manavadar, Porbandar, and Vaghodia voted to elect new representatives as the incumbent MLAs joined the BJP.

Veteran Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia resigned from Porbandar seat and defected to the BJP. Assembly elections were held in Gujarat in December 2022. Three other legislators – Manavadar MLA Arvind Ladani, Vijapur MLA CJ Chavda, and Khambhat MLA Chirag Patel – quit the Congress to join the BJP.

In Vaghodia, Dharmendrasinh Vaghela, a BJP rebel who had won the election in 2022, resigned as an MLA in January to return to the party fold.
