New Delhi: As Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) amps its campaign in poll-bound Gujarat, Delhi Chief Minister and party convener Arvind Kejriwal will embark on a two-day visit to the state from Friday to announce another pre-election "guarantee" for voters.
During his visit, Arvind Kejriwal will provide a fillip to the AAP's campaigning and also declare a "major pre-poll guarantee" for the people of Gujarat, a statement by the party informed on Thursday, as reported by news agency PTI.
So far, the AAP national convener has announced a set of "guarantees" which include free electricity up to 300 units per month, unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000, ten lakh government jobs, free and quality healthcare for all, free education in state-run schools and Rs 1,000 allowance for women if the AAP comes to power in Gujarat.
Arvind Kejriwal will begin his two-day visit from Devbhumi Dwarka district by addressing a gathering in Dwarka town where he will announce the new pre-poll guarantee, PTI reported citing the AAP statement.
After his speech at the gathering, the Delhi Chief Minister will offer prayers at the famous Dwarkadheesh temple in Dwarka town.
On Saturday, he will attend a meeting of sarpanches in Surendranagar town. Following this, he will attend a "town hall" meeting with Village Computer Entrepreneurs (VCEs), who work in eGram centres for delivering services to rural citizens, the AAP stated.
Arvind Kejriwal has visited the state multiple times in the last few months to campaign for his party and oversee its poll preparations. Gujarat, currently ruled by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is slated to undergo assembly elections by the year-end.
