Mizoram ABP CVoter Opinion Poll: As the political scene in Mizoram prepares for the upcoming assembly elections on November 7, the ABP News-CVoter Survey provides an interesting look into the state's electoral dynamics. Mizoram, a northeastern state with a long history, will hold a single-phase election for its 40 assembly members. All five states, including Mizoram, will have their votes counted on December 3, with the election process wrapping up on December 5.

Mizoram is now ruled by the Mizo National Front (MNF), which is led by Chief Minister Zoramthanga. The MNF, the Indian National Congress (INC), and the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) are major political actors in the state.

The electoral battleground in Mizoram looks to be set for a tight fight, with the ABP News-CVoter Opinion Poll indicating that the Mizo National Front (MNF) will retain power. The ruling MNF is projected to win 17 to 21 seats, INC could win 6 to 10 seats, ZPM 10 to 14 seats, and Others 0 to 2 seats.

As for vote share percentage projections, MNF, which secured 37.7 per cent of the vote share in the last election, is projected to receive 34.7 per cent of votes, in a swing of -3 per cent. INC, with a 29.9 per cent vote share in the previous election, is projected to receive 30.1 per cent, a swing of 0.2 per cent. ZPM, a rising political force with a 22.9 per cent vote share in the last election, is anticipated to secure 25.8 per cent, a swing of 2.9 per cent.

Other parties, holding a 9.5 per cent vote share in the last election, are expected to garner 9.4 per cent, indicating a swing of -0.1 per cent.

Mizoram's political scene has been dominated by the Mizo National Front and the Congress from the state's inception in 1987. The creation of a new political institution, the ZPM, which rocked traditional calculations in a crucial local body election earlier this year, adds a new wrinkle to the impending elections.

The incumbent MNF, led by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, is seeking a second straight term in government in these forthcoming elections. Since Mizoram's creation as a state, the MNF has ruled for three terms, due in part to the Mizo peace treaty struck by then-prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. Meanwhile, the main Opposition party, Congress, has been in power for four terms.

(Disclaimer: Current survey findings and projections are based on CVoter Pre Poll personal interviews (Face to Face) conducted among 18+ adults statewide, all confirmed voters (sample size 2,246). The data is weighted to the known demographic profile of the States. Sometimes the table figures do not sum to 100 due to the effects of rounding. Our final data file has Socio-Economic profile within +/- 1% of the Demographic profile of the State. We believe this will give the closest possible trends. The sample spread is across all Assembly segments in the poll bound state. MoE is +/- 3% at macro level and +/- 5% at micro level VOTE SHARE projection with 95% Confidence interval.)
