Delhi Elections: Aam Aadmi Party Mohinder Goyal was attacked on Friday in his constituency allegedly by BJP workers. Mahendra Goyal was attacked in Sector 11, his team claimed sharing a video of the incident. Goyal has been renominated by the party from the Rithala assembly constituency for the Delhi Assembly Election.
Reacting to the incident, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal said: "The BJP will lose the elections in Delhi. In frustration, they have now resorted to violence. We strongly condemn the attack on our MLA Mahendra Goyal from Rithala."
The party said that the "BJP goons" even threatened to shoot Goyal. In a statement on X, the AAP said: "The BJP's frustration has risen to such an extent that now it is openly carrying out deadly attacks on AAP MLAs. Today BJP goons attacked AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal... People of Delhi, think about it! When they are not in power, they are threatening to shoot an MLA, if you vote for them even by mistake, tomorrow they will threaten to shoot the common people; they will turn Delhi into a den of hooliganism."
Delhi is slated to go to polls on February 5 and the results will be declared on February 8.
