'Voters Are Smart, Can Differentiate Between...': AAP's Sandeep Pathak On Assembly Polls, I.N.D.I.A Bloc

Assembly elections in Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana will be contested on separate days commencing November 7, with votes being tallied on December 3.

Aam Aadmi Party MP Dr. Sandeep Pathak on Monday stated that the party will be contesting the upcoming assembly elections on its own, adding that "the (I.N.D.I.A) alliance is for Lok Sabha elections," news agency PTI reported. Speaking with PTI, AAP MP stated: "For assembly elections, it was decided that we would fight separately. All the opposition parties kept their self-interest aside and forged this alliance keeping the nation's interest in mind."

The Aam Aadmi Party is fully prepared to contest the next assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, and the names of candidates will be announced shortly, according to its national convener and Delhi Chief Minister

The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for conducting assembly polls in five states — Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram. As per the announcement, polling will begin on November 7 and will conclude on November 30  while the results will be declared on December 3. 

The voting will take place in sigle phase in MP, Rajasthan, Telangana and Mizoram and in two phases in Chhattisgarh.

When asked about the AAP's election preparations, CM Kejriwal stated, "We are prepared to contest elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh with full strength."

When asked if his party will run in the elections as part of the INDIA bloc, he stated that "whatever happens will be informed."

The Congress, which, like the AAP, is a partner in the opposition INDIA group, now rules Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
