Aam Aadmi Party MLA and Delhi minister Atishi on Wednesday alleged that the BJP has stopped the Yamuna water supply from Haryana to Delhi ahead of the May 25 Lok Sabha polling. "The BJP has now resorted to using its government in Haryana to harass the people of Delhi by stopping the water supply ahead of the polls," Atishi said at a press conference.

Atishi said complaints of water shortage have been received over the past few days from areas that have never faced scarcity. "Upon investigating the matter, we found the Haryana government was stopping the Yamuna water supply. Yamuna's water level is 674 feet in Wazirabad. At its lowest, it flows at 672 feet. However, since May 11, the water level has been going lower. For three days since May 11, it went down to 671.6. On May 14-15, it went up to 671.9... The water level down below 670 feet for the first time in history on May 21. It was 670.9," she said.

Atishi alleged that this was just a conspiracy to create a shortage of water and defame Arvind Kejriwal and the AAP. "I want to tell the people that the BJP will hatch such conspiracies till May 25 to instigate the people. But I want to warn the BJP that no amount of conspiracies will work now as the people have made up their minds to give all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi to the AAP."

The allegations come at a time when the AAP is in deep trouble over the alleged cases of Delhi liquor scam and assault on party MP Swati Maliwal by Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar. Arvind Kejriwal is currently out on bail till June 1 in the liquor scam case.

Addressing the mediapersons, Atishi on Wednesday further said that the Delhi government will write to the Haryana Government and even move the Supreme Court if needed. "It's clear this move is politically motivated right before the [Lok Sabha] elections in Delhi. This is affecting several parts of Delhi."

The AAP has ordered the Delhi Jal Board to increase the number of water tankers within 24 hours. It has also ordered the DJB to run borewells for water supply augmentation for 22 hours on average. Earlier it used to run for 16 hours.

On Tuesday, Atishi said the I.N.D.I.A bloc will come to power on June 4 and the "electoral bond scam" will be thoroughly investigated. Atishi said, "The BJP's end is near. Now, the people of the country have made up their minds. After June 4, when the I.N.D.I.A bloc forms the government, the country's biggest electoral bond scam will be investigated, in which not only BJP leaders will go to jail but officials of the Enforcement Directorate, the Central Bureau of Investigation, and the Income Tax will be arrested as well for their involvement."

She said that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested within five days of the announcement of the elections without any proof to weaken the party in its campaigns. "But when he came out of jail on bail, the BJP became desperate... They first used Swati Maliwal to level false allegations against Kejriwal and then they dug up an old donations case with the ED," she said on Wednesday.
