Ahmadabad: BJP president Amit Shah shall be filing his Lok Sabha nomination from Gandhinagar seat later on Saturday afternoon. Addressing a public meeting at Sardar Patel Chowk ahead of the mega-NDA roadshow in Ahmadabad, Shah expressed his gratitude to PM Modi and the BJP leadership for giving him a chance to fight the general elections.
Shah added that what stature he holds in the party today is courtesy the unrelenting support given to him by the BJP workers. Shah said that the mood of the nation was in favour of PM Modi and the BJP shall come back to power for a second term after the polls.
The party president exuded confidence in PM Modi's leadership and said that chants of Modi-Modi are vibrant and widespread across the electorate in the nation. He said that the 2019 general elections will be fought on only one agenda that who shall lead the country.
Shah is replacing BJP veteran L K Advani, who had been winning uninterrupted from Gandhinagar since 1998, from the prestigious constituency.
Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari and leaders of BJP's allies such as Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, SAD supremo Parkash Singh Badal and LJP founder Ram Vilas Paswan will be present during party president Amit Shah's filing of nomination from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat on Saturday.
