Assembly Election Results 2019: The Assembly election results today will bring the curtains down on a bitter contest in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal, Sikkim and Odisha between several candidates as the Election Commission of India will start the counting votes of these states on Thursday. The Vidhan Sabha elections were held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls in the duration of April-May, 2019.

The contest in Sikkim is between regional parties SDF and SKM, along with a new entrant in Sikkim, probably the only State where national parties hardly have any influence.

While in Arunachal, it is a tri-corner fight for the two Parliamentary constituencies, with Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju, Arunachal pradesh Congress chief Nabam Tuki, and State BJP chief Tapir Gao as key contenders.
Most of the exit polls predicted that in Odisha the saffron party is gaining ground in the coastal state even though Patnaik still holds a clear lead in the simultaneous elections.
About 25,000 policemen from state force were deployed as part of the massive security arrangements in Andhra Pradesh. Election officials said 35 companies of central paramilitary forces were also deployed while the Centre was sending another 10 companies.
The state of Sikkim is electing its eighth Legislative Assembly. Assembly polls in Sikkim were held simultaneous to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, on April 11 for which the counting of votes will take place today. The state has one Lok Sabha seat and 32 Assembly seats.

In Odisha, The Naveen Patnaik-led BJD, which is eyeing a return to power for an unprecedented fifth consecutive term in Odisha, faced its toughest battle as a resurgent BJP riding on a Narendra Modi juggernaut posed a serious challenge to the regional party.
The Lok Sabha and Assembly election results on Thursday will bring the curtains down on a bitter contest in Odisha between several candidates, especially the three major political parties - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and the Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
A three-tier security cordon, with Central Armed Police Force personnel in the innermost perimeter, would maintain vigil at 36 centres in Andhra Pradesh where counting of votes for 25 Lok Sabha and 175 Assembly seats will be taken up today.
The Election Commission will start counting of votes for Vidhan Sabha or Legislative Assembly elections in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim today (Thursday, 23 May) at 8 am.




A total of 414 seats in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim Assembly seats went to polls between 11 April and 19 May.
