Chatra: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sunil Kumar Singh from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 178026 votes. The polling / voting in Chatra constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Sunil Singh and Congress Party#s Manoj kumar yadav

Chatra 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 12 out of the 14 parliamentary seat with 40.1 percent vote share while the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha managed to win just 2 seats with a 9.3 percent vote share.

Out of the 20 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Chatra, 19 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Sunil Kumar Singh of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Dhiraj Prasad Sahu by a margin of 178026 votes.

Here, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Dhirendra Agarwal attained 121464 votes and Janata Dal (United) candidate Inder Singh Namdhari bagged 102609 votes
• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 55099 votes RJD candidate Nagmani had got 219783 while BJP got Dhirendra Agrawal votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate with a difference of 33375 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Dhirendra Agrawal attained 225086 votes and Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate Nagmani bagged 191711 votes
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated JD candidate by a margin of 54370 votes BJP candidate Dheerendra Agrawal had got 216715 while JD got Krishna Nandan Prasad votes.
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, JD candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 41379 votes. Here, JD leader Upendra Nath Verma attained 152477 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Dhirendra Agrawal bagged 111098 votes
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, JD candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 77371 votes JD candidate Upender Nath Verma had got 224839 while INC got Yogehswar Parsad Yogesh votes.

મોદીએ કહ્યું કે, આ ચૂંટણી સકારાત્મક અને શાનદાર રહી છે. તે આ વખતે ચૂંટણી પ્રચાર કરી રહ્યા નહોતા પરંતુ લોકોનો આભાર માની રહ્યા હતા. મોદીએ કહ્યું કે, ચૂંટણી દરમિયાન આઇપીએલ, બોર્ડની પરિક્ષાઓ, રમઝાન અને નવરાત્રી એકસાથે ચાલી રહી છે. ભારત દુનિયાનો સૌથી મોટો લોકતંત્ર દેશ છે. વિશ્વને આપણે પ્રભાવિત કરવા જોઇએ.

વડાપ્રધાન મોદીએ કહ્યું કે, 17મે 2014 બાદથી ઇમાનદાર સરકારની શરૂઆત થઇ ગઇ હતી. 2014ની લોકસભા ચૂંટણીનો ઉલ્લેખ કરી કહ્યું કે, 16મેના પરિણામ આવ્યા હતા. 17 મે બાદ મોદી આવતાની સાથે ભ્રષ્ટાચારીઓને તેની કિંમત ચૂકવવી પડી હતી. સટ્ટા માર્કેટમાં ત્યારે કોગ્રેસનો રેટ 18 રહ્યો હતો અને ભાજપનો 75 હતો.
