The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) has announced that it will conduct a new PUMDET (Presidency University Masters Degree Entrance Test) 2023 for admissions into the Postgraduate programmes offered by the Presidency University for the academic year 2023-24.
The PUMDET 2023 Exam is tentatively scheduled to be conducted on July 9, 2023. The WBJEEB is expected to start the PUMDET Application Window from January 31. The PUMDET Registration cum application form will be accepted in the online mode only on the official WBJEEB website - wbjeeb.nic.in. The PUMDET Application Deadline would end on february 21, 2023.
The PUMDET 2023 Exam will be an OMR based entrance test, following which, the WBJEEB will also conduct an admission counseling procedure, similar to NTA JEE Main, NEET, MHT-CET, and several other national and state-level exams.

The WBJEEB released a notice on its official website recently and announced the introduction of the new entrance exam. “West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) will conduct OMR based entrance test (PUMDET-2023) and counselling for admission to various Postgraduate (M.A./M. Sc) Courses in Presidency University for the academic session 2023-24,” read the official WBJEEB notice.
“Tentative date of examination: 9th July,2023 (Sunday). Online Registration for PUMDET-2023: 31.01.2023 to 21.02.2023,” the WBJEEB added.
Earlier, for 2022, Presidency University PG Admissions 2022 were entirely merit based. However, this is not the first time the Presidency University will offer entrance-based admissions. The university last conducted the PUMDET as well as the PUBDET (Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test) in the year 2020. However, in the wake of the reeling COVID-19 pandemic, the university scrapped both the tests and restricted its admissions to merit-based only.
