WB Board Exam Cancelled: The West Bengal government on Monday decided to cancel the West Bengal Class 10 and 12 board examinations 2021. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the second wave of the covid-19 pandemic. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee shared this announcement on her official Twitter handle. 


"Thank you very much for sending us your valuable opinions and suggestions. GoWB thus arrives at the decision of canceling Madhyamik/Uchhamadhyamik examinations for 2021. We will work out the best possible way to secure the future of our children," she tweeted. 



However, the decision regarding the evaluation of the West Bengal class 12 students will be made by the Education authorities and the education secretary after a meeting with the expert's committee. On Sunday, the West Bengal school education department shared email ids and sought public opinion on the feasibility of conducting the West Bengal Class 10 and 12 board examination 2021 amidst the covid-19 pandemic. In response, 34,000 emails ie. 79 percent were against conducting the Madhyamik class 10 exams, and 83 percent were against conducting HS class 12 exams. 


Four days earlier, the state education department had formed a six-member experts panel to discuss the provisions of conducting the class 10 and12 examination. 


The panel consists of the head of the secondary board, the chief of state child rights protection panel, a doctor, and academics. 


 The decision to cancel the West Bengal class 12 board examination was taken after seeking the expert's recommendations followed by the public opinions.
