Though the closing date for UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2019 is a few weeks away, interested candidates must submit their applications sooner as the allotment of examination centres will be done on first come first serve basis. ‘Applicants must note that there will be a ceiling on the number of candidates allotted to each of the Centres except Chennai, Dispur, Kolkata and Nagpur. Allotment of Centres will be on the 'first-apply-first allot' basis, and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen.

Eligibility Criteria:
For Civil Services Examination:
The applicant must possess a Bachelor’s degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or its equivalent.
For Indian Forest Services:
The applicant must possess a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other
educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
Age-Limit:
The applicant must fall in the age bracket of 21 to 32 years as on 1 st August 2019. Age relaxation rules apply as stated in the official advertisement given on the above-mentioned web page.

The Civil Services Examination 2019 will comprise of two successive stages of examination viz
