The Department of Basic Education, Uttar Pradesh has directed all government schools in the state to remain open today, August 13, to implement the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ and ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ programmes, under the Aazadi Ka AMrit Mahotsav scheme. While sharing an official order from the Mid Day Meal Authority, Uttar Pradesh on X (formerly Twitter), the Department of Basic Education said that special mid day meals shall be provided to students present in schools today.
“This Sunday will be special for children… Special mid-day meals will be arranged for children in schools on Sunday, August 13, 2023, in the series of 'Meri Mati Mera Desh' programs being organized in the state under the closing ceremony of 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Yojana,” the Department of Basic Education tweeted.

Issued to all basic education officers, the order states that as part of the closing ceremony of the Aazadi Ka AMrit Mahotsav scheme, various programmes are to be organized under the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign are to be organised in all gram panchayats, nagar panchayats and local urban bodies from August 9 to 15, in compliance with guidelines.
As per directions from the state government, several programmes are to be organised in schools across the state today. As per the instructions, a recitation competition for students will be organised for students in schools today, August 13.

The order further states that photographs of all such dail;y events have to be uploaded on the departmental portal. Furthermore, the total number of district-wise students and teachers involved/ participating in such programmes shall also be made available to the concerned nodal officer of the directorate, as reported by ANI.
