Most Valuable Teapot
Ever heard of a teapot costing $3,000,000, approximately Rs 24 crore? Well, may be sounding unbelievable. But you heard that right. The Guinness World Records shared pictures of the teapot named "The Egoist," on microblogging platform Twitter on August 9 after which it went viral. The shining kettle had set a world record for the most valuable teapot in 2016.
According to the records keeping company's tweet, the teapot is owned by the N Sethia Foundation in the UK and is made from 18-carat yellow gold with cut diamond covering the entire body and a 6.67-carat ruby in the centre. The handle of the kettle is made from fossilised mammoth ivory. Italian jeweller Fulvio Scavia crafted the teapot which costs a whopping Rs 24 crore.
Nagaland Minister Shares Ecofriendly Innovation
Nagaland minister Temjen Imna Along highlighting the importance of ecofriendly innovations shared a video of washbasin made entirely from bamboo.
"Dekha hai kahi aisa (Have you seen this anywhere else?)", read the caption of the post shared by Along.
In the video it is explained that these washbasins are made in most of the villages of Nagaland and water is brought to them from rivers in the hills. There are holes made in the pipe-like structure basins that are plugged with bamboo pieces. Whenever someone wants to use them they just need to remove one of the plugged bamboo pieces and water starts to flow from the hole. After finishing washing hands the bamboo piece is re-inserted into the hole. There are also wooden hangers made to hand towels and shelf for soap.
Auto Driver Accepts Two Rides At A Time
An Auto driver in Bengaluru accepted two different rides on two different applications at the same time.Twitter user @design_melon_ shared a screenshot of the auto booking leaving the netizens intrigued.
"2 different locations. 2 different apps. 2 different phones. Same auto Same driver. @peakbengaluru. much?," read the caption of the post shared along with the screenshot.
In the post shared on the microblogging site, one can see that one of the rides was two minutes away while the other ride was four minutes away. The name of the auto driver Dashrath can also be seen written in the booking receipt.
'Real Life Transformer'
Industrialist Anand Mahindra recently shared a clip of a vehicle changing into a 'Transformer', just like alien robots from the iconic science fiction Hollywood movie. A Turkish company named Letvision created this Transformer using a BMW car in 2016. The video after going viral caught the attention of Mahindra.
Velu Mahindra, the Chief Of Global Product Development at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd was also tagged in the tweet by Mahindra.
The video he shared, shows a red coloured BMW car modified in a way that it changes like a 'Transformer'.
Rapido Driver Arrives On A Royal Enfield
A Bengaluru-based software engineer who had recently booked a ride with Rapido had a unique experience to share online. Taking to the microblogging platform Twitter he explained how to his surprise, the rider assigned to pick him up arrived on an upscale motorcycle, Royal Enfield Hunter. That's not all, the rider turned out to be a software engineer with a great interest in motorcycling. In fact, he too was an employee of the very company hosting the event that the booking was made for.
