SC Verdict does not guarantee cancellation of exams
While SC Verdict may be in favour of the petitioners, it does not guarantee that all final year examinations would be canceled. The decision has to be taken whether a State Government's order can override UGC Directives. As such, if the order is in favor of the petitioners in the matter of State Governments, if the state government does not cancel the exams, Universities in the state may still continue to conduct the examinations.

It was also argued that not conducting exams will be against students' future as a uniform admission process will get adversely affected without final year exams
