New Delhi: The pending exams of class 10 and 12 have been postponed again by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE). This is the second time the exams are being shifted to a new date.


The dates are now being postponed again due to the lockdown in containment zones till June 30. The President of the TBSE Bhabatosh Saha said in a report by PTI that although they are ready to conduct exams they cannot go ahead with the latest schedule.

"We had taken all preparations to conduct board examinations of pending papers of Class 10 and 12 from June 5. Now, we have to reschedule the dates again," Saha said.

He also said that the board had shifted the exams to June after consultation with the Tripura government. Students will now have to wait for the announcement of the fresh schedule for the pending exams.

Before the nationwide lockdown was announced on March 24, the board was able to complete most of the exams but few subjects remained. According to the latest notification which had been brought out by the board last month, the exams were supposed to begin from June 5 and will continue till June 11. The class 12 exams were supposed, to begin with, Sanskrit and Statistics and were ending on June 11 with Home management and Home Nursing and Nutrition. For Class 10, pending examinations for Physical Science and Life Science were to be held on June 5 and June 6 respectively.

Like most states in the North East, Tripura had enjoyed a low concentration of coronavirus cases since the lockdown began. But recent reports show a rise in the number of cases. At present, the state has recorded a total of 420 cases, out of which 247 cases are active cases. There have been no fatalities so far.
