School Reopening: In 2020, the whole world was hit by the Corona epidemic. In view of the fatal consequences of covid-19, countries adopted several precautionary measures such as a lockdown. There was also a lockdown in India for a long time. Due to which big companies, shops, offices, markets and schools, and colleges were closed. Although as the effect of the epidemic outbreak eased slightly and with lockdown restrictions relaxed, schools and colleges reopened in many states earlier this year.


But as the second wave of Corora wreaked havoc in the country again, schools and colleges were closed once again in March. Now that the second wave of the corona is receding, many states have opened schools and colleges or are going to open in the coming days so that the children's academic routine can be brought back on track. Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, schools have reopened for classes 9 to 12 after a decline in Covid-19 cases (August 16). In the meantime, it has been made mandatory to follow the Covid-19 rules. Schools from class VI to VIII were also scheduled to open in UP from today but a public holiday has been declared in the state due to the death of former chief minister Kalyan Singh. Currently, there is no update on opening schools at the moment.


Bihar
Schools in Bihar have reopened for classes 1-8 from August 16. However, classes are being held with 50 percent attendance and only on alternative days. Earlier schools from 9th to 12th were opened in the state. It may be recalled that in the meantime, it has been made mandatory to follow the Covid-19 rules. Students, teachers, and school staff have been asked to wear masks as well as maintain social distancing.


Madhya Pradesh
The Madhya Pradesh government reopened 11th and 12th standard schools with 50 percent attendance from July 26. Schools were opened from August 5 for students of 9th and 10th standard.  The government had also issued guidelines for the opening of schools. As per the guidelines, in order to arrest the spread of coronavirus morning assembly and swimming, etc. have not been allowed. In addition to this, the state government has also asked the school management to take measures such as getting the students and teachers tested for Covid-19.


 Gujarat
Schools were also opened in Gujarat for students of class IX to XI with 50 percent capacity from July 26. However, learning and teaching through online mode are also being continued for these classes. Schools have been instructed to follow all standard operating procedures or SOP related to the Coronavirus epidemic, such as wearing masks and maintaining social distance, etc. It may be recalled that earlier the state government has opened 12th standard schools, colleges, and technical institutions in view of the decline in corona cases.


Punjab
Schools from 10th to 12th standard were first opened in Punjab from July 26 after which from August 2, the state government opened schools for all classes from primary. However, only fully vaccinated teachers and staff have been allowed to be present in schools. At the same time, it is mandatory for the students to get their parents' consent in order to attend school. The option of digital classes is also being continued during this period.


Odisha
The Odisha government had also opened schools for classes 10, 12 from July 26. Classes are being conducted from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm. No provision for recess has been given during this period.  Schools will remain closed on all Sundays and holidays. However, schools that will act as exam centers will be reopened later after the tests are finished. Let us inform you that the government had also issued a detailed SOP to resume classes under the Covid-19 guidelines. At the same time, the state government has also opened schools for 9th standard students from August 16.


Karnataka
Schools from class 9 to 12 have been reopened again in the state of Karnataka from August 23, today. However, schools will be opened only in a select few districts. On the other hand, the State Government of Karnataka has issued a Statement of Procedure (SOP) and it is mandatory for all educational institutions to follow the guidelines mentioned in the SOP. According to the SOP issued, schools will be allowed to reopen only in districts where the Covid-19 test positivity rate is less than 2 percent. It is mandatory for all students, staff, and parents visiting the school campus to follow the guidelines mentioned in the SOP.


Rajasthan
The Rajasthan government has approved the reopening of schools from September 1 for students from Class 9-12 with a capacity of 50 percent. The state government has said that teaching and non-teaching staff must take at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine 14 days in advance. While classes for students from classes 1 to 8 will be conducted in an online mode.


Tamil Nadu
The Tamil Nadu government has relaxed covid restrictions in the state and also announced that schools from 9th to 12th standard in the state will be opened from September 1 with 50 percent capacity. Also, all colleges in the state can function with teaching and non-teaching staff on a rotational basis from September 1.
