As for the ICSE board, the decision would be taken basis CBSE's stand on the remaining examination. ICSE council informed the court that the Bombay HC decision is also pending the same. The court has asked the SG to also take an in-principle decision for ICSE also. The matter would be taken up on June 25 now.

Students' future still in a predicament

The Ministry of Human Resource Development Ministry conducted a closed-door meeting on June 22 with NTA, CBSE officials, and other stakeholders but there has been no response from the ministry yet. Lakhs of students await for the decision by the CBSE board and many have questions on their mind regarding the postponement of NEET 200 and JEE Mains 2020 if it happens.

A group of parents had moved the Supreme Court, requesting the cancellation of the remaining board examinations as the board reportedly cancelled class 10th and 12th exams across 250 schools abroad. Those students will be awarded marks based on practical examinations or internal assessment.

Lakhs of aspiring engineers and doctors have also been requesting the government to defer the entrance examinations of NEET 2020 and JEE Mains 2020 in the wake of rising numbers of the coronavirus cases in the country.

Owing to the repeated appeals by the students and the parents it is likely that the entrance examinations will be postponed. Currently, NEET 2020 is scheduled on July 26, 2020, while JEE Mains is scheduled to be conducted between July 19 to July 23.

The final decision by the government and the board for CBSE pending Board exams is awaited till tomorrow evening. However, it is not clear that the new schedule for JEE Mains and NEET 2020 will be rolled out tomorrow.
