The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB), Mohali, is gearing up to release the Class 8 board examination results for 2026 shortly. Students who appeared for the exams are eagerly waiting for the official announcement. Once declared, the results will be available on the official website, pseb.ac.in, where candidates can access their scorecards using their roll number or name.

Meanwhile, the board has clarified that Class 5 results will not be published online. Students of Class 5 will have to collect their mark sheets directly from their respective schools. 

PSEB Class 8 Result 2026: Exam Details and Timeline 

The Punjab Board conducted the Class 8 examinations from February 17 to February 27, 2026, in offline mode across the state. With the evaluation process nearing completion, the board is expected to announce the results soon.

Looking at past trends, the result declaration usually takes place in April. In previous years, results were announced on April 4, 2025, April 30 in 2024, and April 28 in 2023. This pattern suggests that students can expect the results around a similar timeframe this year as well. 

How to Check PSEB Class 8 Result 2026 Online 

Students can follow these simple steps to check their results once released: 

Step 1: Visit the official website, pseb.ac.in 

Step 2: Click on the ‘Results’ section available on the homepage 

Step 3: Enter the required login credentials such as roll number or name 

Step 4: Submit the details to view the result 

Step 5: Verify all information carefully 

Step 6: Download and save the scorecard for future use 

The online result will be provisional. Students will need to collect their original mark sheets from their schools later. 

Key Highlights and Previous Year Performance 

The PSEB Class 8 result will include important details such as subject-wise marks, total marks obtained, and the qualifying status of the student. In addition to the official website, results may also be accessible via DigiLocker for convenience. 

In terms of performance, the overall pass percentage saw a slight dip in 2025 compared to 2024. It decreased from 98.31% in 2024 to 97.30% in 2025. Girls performed better than boys, achieving a pass percentage of 98.9%, while boys recorded 96.49%. 

PSEB Class 8 Toppers and Statistics 

In 2025, Puneet Verma secured the top position with a perfect score of 600 out of 600 marks. Navjot Kaur also scored 600 marks and was placed second due to tie-breaking rules. Another student, Navjot Kaur, secured the third rank with 599 marks. 

In 2024, a total of 2,91,917 students appeared for the exam, out of which 2,86,987 successfully passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 98.31%. Girls recorded 98.83%, while boys achieved 97.84%. 

Students are advised to stay updated through official sources and keep their login credentials ready to avoid last-minute issues.
