NEET 2021 Result, Counselling Update: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon release the results of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2021. The NEET 2021 exam was conducted on September 12 in a centre-based pen and paper mode. NEET 2021 result along with the merit list and all India cut-off marks, will be declared on October 13, after the completion of NEET Phase 2 registration. For admission to undergraduate (UG) medical and allied programs in the country, NEET cut-off is the last rank, for which admissions will be offered in medical institutes.

NEET OMR Response Sheet & Scorecard will be sent by mail
After closing the NEET Phase 2 registration and correction window, NTA will also send the NEET OMR response sheet and scorecard to the candidates through email. "Candidates are advised to check, cross-check and verify their registered e-mail ID and ensure they have entered their own e-mail address, as NTA will send a scanned copy of the OMR answer sheet and scorecard only on registered email," the NTA said.

NEET 2021- Tie-breaking process
NEET UG paper included physics, chemistry, and biology (botany and zoology). Each subject had 45 multiple-choice questions. There will be a negative marking of one mark for incorrect answers. In the NEET 2021 entrance exam, if two or more candidates score the same marks, the agency will follow a tie-breaking methodology to break the deadlock.

Tie-breaking methodology

  • Candidates obtaining Higher Marks / Percentile Score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) in the Test

  • Candidates who have obtained Higher Marks/Percentile Score in Chemistry in the exam.

  • Candidates with a lesser ratio of number of wrong answers and correct answers in all the subjects in the examination

NEET 2021 Counselling Process
After the declaration of the NEET 2021 result, NTA will also release and share a state-wise NEET merit list with the concerned authorities to conduct NEET counselling for 85 per cent of medical and dental seats. Candidates will be able to register for NEET counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and 85% State-Quota seats.
