Sidharth Ramkumar's family was surprised when they found out their son Sidharth had secured fourth rank in UPSC CSE 2023. They didn't even know he had participated in the UPSC CSE exam. Ramkumar, Sidharth's dad, and his family came to know about the proud achievement of their son Siddharth through the television news.

Sidharth is currently undergoing IPS training in Hyderabad after securing 121 rank in the civil services exam last year. It was a pleasant surprise for his parents. The result announcement news gave the family more happiness as they had no idea that their son had appeared for the exams. Siddharth's mother said, "Siddharth was an all-rounder during his studies and always wanted to get into IAS. He was an extrovert and sports buff, Siddharth was the captain of the cricket team during school days. We have to wait till 7.30 pm to pass our congratulations to him...He won't attend calls during the day hours as he is busy with the training."

Sidharth's brother Adarsh said, "We absolutely had no knowledge about this...Because he didn't tell us that he was trying to improve the rank parallelly with his IPS training in Hyderabad". Adarsh also said that Sidharth is an all-rounder, and his success in the exam shows how talented he is. Sidharth decided to change from IPS to IAS, which shows he is always open to trying new things and wanted to grow.

Before being selected for IPS, Sidharth joined the Indian Telecommunication Service. He then improved his rank last year but continued to be in the IPS. He graduated in Architecture from Kerala University in August 2019 and gave his first UPSC attempt in his final year of graduation but couldn't clear prelims. When asked about Sidharth's future, his family said he would probably choose IAS over IPS.
