New Delhi: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) declared the results of the class 12 board examinations today. Initially, the results were scheduled to be declared at 3 pm, but there was some delay in the announcement.
The results were announced by Bihar Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary. Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department, Sanjay Kumar, and Anand Kishor, Chairman, Bihar School Examination Committee, were also present on the occasion of the declaration of the Bihar Board's Inter examination results.
As many as 13.5 lakh students appeared for the Bihar Board Class 12 examination that was conducted from February 1 to February 14. Among the ones who appeared, the overall pass percentage this year is 80.15 percent. The pass percentage of girls in the Science stream is 83.07 percent while that of boys is 77.89 percent.
In the Science stream, Saurabh Kumar and Arjun Kumar have stood first with 472 marks, Raj Ranjan from Motihari district has stood second with 471 marks and Sejal Kumar from Gaya College stood third with 470 marks.
In the Commerce stream, Ankit Kumar Gupta stood first with 94.6 percent, Vineet Sinha from Nawada and Muskan Singh of Gaya stood second with 94.4 percent, and Anjali Kumari of Gopalganj stood third with 94 percent marks.
The Arts stream was topped by Sangam Raj of Gopalganj with 96.4 percent followed by Shreya Kumari of Katihar coming second with 94.2 percent and Ritika Ratan of Madhepura stood third with 94 percent marks.

The Bihar government has decided to reward the toppers of each stream with Rs 1 lakh and a laptop and Kindle eBook reader.
The student who ranks second will be felicitated with a Kindle eBook reader, a prize of Rs 75,000, and a laptop, and the third-ranked student will receive an amount of Rs 50,000 along with a laptop and a Kindle.
As per the rules of the Bihar Board, the candidates have to score at least 33 per cent marks in each subject in order to pass the exam and the students will have to pass separately in both theory and practical.
Examinees who fail in one or two subjects will be given a chance to clear the Class 12 boards through compartment exams.
