The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that there will be no board examinations for Class 10 students starting from the next academic year in 2024. The decision aligns with the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Instead, matric exams will be conducted solely at the school level. Furthermore, a new educational board will be established in Assam.

The pass percentage in the Arts stream witnessed a decline from 83.48 percent in the previous year to 70.12 percent this year. Similarly, in the Science stream, the success rate dropped from 92.19 percent to 84.96 percent. The Commerce stream also experienced a decrease, with the pass percentage falling from 87.27 percent to 79.57 percent. In Vocational stream too, pass percentage dropped from last year's 89.30 percent to 85.61 percent.

According to the announcement made by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, starting from the next academic session, the Class 10 exams in Assam will be conducted at the school level as per the new education policy. Under this new system, there will be a pass and fail system in place for the students.

To successfully pass the Assam Class 12 exam in 2023, students are required to achieve a minimum of 30 percent marks in each subject as well as in the aggregate.

The Assam Education Minister shared an official notification regarding the declaration of the Assam board Class 12 result 2023 through a tweet. In the tweet, the minister stated, "Here is the AHSEC NOTIFICATION for declaring the results of HS EXAM 2023."
Background
The Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has declared the results for the Class 12 Higher Secondary examination today, June 6, 2023. Students can check their Assam AHSEC HS Result 2023 on the official websites- ahsec.assam.gov.in and resultsassam.nic.in. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated students and said in a tweet, "My congratulations and best wishes to all the successful candidates in the HS examination. For those who could not do well this time, remember ~ We always have the power to work harder to achieve success. Do not give up. There is always a new beginning."
To access their Assam AHSEC HS Scorecard 2023, students will need to enter their roll number. It is advisable for students to keep their roll number readily available to avoid any inconvenience while retrieving their results. Students are advised to carefully review their results and save a digital copy or printout of their scorecards for future reference. If there are any discrepancies or queries, they should contact the relevant authorities according to the AHSEC guidelines.
The AHSEC 12th Board Exams for the year 2023 took place from February 20 to March 20, 2023. The exams were conducted in two shifts: Shift 1 was held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, while Shift 2 took place from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
In the previous year, the Assam Class 12th board examination saw a total of 2.15 lakh candidates appearing for the exams. Among these candidates, the highest number of students, around 1.64 lakh, appeared from the arts stream. The science stream had the second-highest number of candidates with around 34,401 students, and the commerce stream had around 15,581 candidates.
