Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla today said that the state government has decided to reopen all government, semi-government and private schools from January 7 in view of parents' education concerns. Singla informed that the time of schools will be from 10 am to 3 pm in the morning and only students of class V to XII will be allowed to come to the schools and hold classes.

Vijay Inder Singla said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has given his consent and directed the Education Department to take strict safety precautions for the children in view of Covid-19 pandemic. He further said that following the instructions of the Chief Minister, all the school managers have been asked to strictly follow the instructions issued by the Health Department to prevent the risk of infection of Coronavirus.

The cabinet minister said that the Department of Education had taken responses from the heads of schools to ensure the safety of the children. He further said that heads and chiefs of the schools had requested to reopen the school before the annual examinations of students.

Appreciating the teachers who act as real Corona warriors for providing standard education facilities to the students, the Education Minister said that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh chaired a mega program on 7th of November last year, while the students of class XII 'Mission 100%' was launched on the occasion of the distribution of smart phones.

After this announcement, the entire Education Department, especially the teachers of the schools, have fully mobilised to turn the Chief Minister's dream into reality.
