Punjab School Reopening:  The Punjab government has decided to reopen schools for students of Classes 10th, 11th, and 12th in the state from July 26. However, in view of the Coronavirus pandemic, the government has set some conditions for this.

According to the decision of Captain Amarinder Singh's government, the students who come to school will have to take the approval of their parents first. Also, it has been said in the order that the staff and teachers of the school should be fully vaccinated (both doses).

Apart from this, the state government has also announced to increase the number of people attending the program or function in closed spaces to 150 and in open spaces to 300 but also stipulated that the guests would be limited to 50 percent of the capacity of the venue. However, earlier, for programs/events, gatherings of 100 were given in closed places and 200 in open places.

During the covid-19 review meeting, Chief Minister Amarinder Singh also said that schools will be allowed to open for classes X to XII, but only those teachers and staff will be allowed to reach the school, who have been fully vaccinated. According to the government, children will come to schools only with the consent of their parents and the option of digital classes will remain open.

Similarly, various states including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar, and many others have decided to re-open schools for class 11 and 12 students.

Schools across the country were closed after the nationwide lockdown on March 24 last year in view of the covid-19 pandemic. Although offline classes resumed from October last year, schools were once again forced to close after the deadly second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India that led to the death of the students.

Note: Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of the Punjab government regularly for the latest updates regarding the school re-opening.
