NEET-UG 2024: More Than 240 Candidates In Gujarat Centre, Over 150 In Rajasthan Centre Score Above 600

NEET UG Centre Wise Result: An analysis of the NEET-UG results for a centre in Rajkot has revealed that over 240 candidates scored more than 600 marks in the medical entrance test. Of these, 12 candidates achieved scores of 700 or above, including one who secured a perfect 720, news agency PTI reported. This data, published by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday, comes amidst ongoing scrutiny regarding alleged irregularities in the examination process.

The results pertain to candidates who appeared at the RK University School of Engineering test centre in Rajkot. Among them, one candidate scored 720, two attained 710, four received 705, while others scored 704, 701, and 700. Additionally, 148 candidates scored between 650 and 700, according to PTI.

The NTA's release of these results is part of a broader investigation into allegations of a question paper leak and other malpractices. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made arrests in several states, including Gujarat, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Haryana, involving students, parents, and members of 'paper solver' gangs.

NEET-UG Exam Row: Over 150 Candidates From One Centre In Rajasthan's Sikar Scored Above 600 

In Rajasthan's Sikar, over 150 candidates from one centre and 83 from another centre scored above 600 but below 700, PTI Reported. Similarly, 45 candidates from the Model School centre in Rohtak, Haryana, and more than 45 from the SDSN Mahavidyalaya centre in Lucknow also scored above 600 but below 700.

In Haryana's Jhajjar, the Hardayal Public School centre, previously under scrutiny for scoring anomalies, has revised results after a Supreme Court-ordered retest. The highest score now stands at 682, significantly lower than the initially reported perfect scores. Only 13 candidates from this centre scored above 600 marks.

The Supreme Court had ordered the publication of centre-wise results to assess discrepancies, particularly whether candidates from allegedly compromised centres outperformed those from other locations. The court will reconvene on July 22 to address ongoing petitions seeking cancellation, re-tests, and a court-monitored investigation into the exam's integrity. 

This examination, held on May 5, saw participation from over 24 lakh candidates across 4,750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 international locations.
