NEET UG 2021 Exam: First time, more than 16 lakh students have registered for NEET-UG. The number of candidates appearing in Indian languages has also increased considerably in the last five years.

NEET UG 2021 Exam: More than 16 lakh students have registered for the first time for the national eligibility entrance test (undergraduate) or NEET-UG, one of the largest competitive undergraduate entrance examinations. The number of candidates appearing in Indian languages has also increased considerably in the last five years. This number has increased from 1.1 lakh in 2017 to 3.4 lakh in 2021. NEET-UG examination will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on September 12, 2021.

According to a report in TOI, the analysis of NEET-UG 2021 registration data has registered a significant increase in the number of registrations in the last five years. The number of registrations was 11.4 lakh in 2017 which has increased to 16.1 lakh in 2021. The number of candidates registering for the examination has increased by nearly one lakh in the period before and after the epidemic.

NEET-UG examination is conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses.

NEET-UG bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) and BSc (H) are qualifying entrance exams for admission to nursing courses. After passing NEET UG, admission can be made to various medical colleges including AIIMS and Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry.

The dominance of women in this field is more 

This study field has been dominated by women and the number of female candidates has increased by 40.8% in the last five years, with more than 9 lakh candidates registering for the latest NEET-UG admissions.

NEET-UG Exam 2021 to be held in 13 languages:

The examination is conducted in 13 languages including 12 Indian languages. This is notifying that the number of candidates appearing in Hindi has more than doubled in the last five years (from 1.2 lakh in 2017 to 2.3 lakh in 2021). Apart from Hindi, the Gujarati language has the highest number of around 50,000 candidates, after this, more than 35,000 candidates in Bengali and around 20,000 in Tamil.

Kerala is the state with the best female and male ratio:

This year, the number of female candidates is close to two lakh as compared to males, and the female to male ratio is higher in most of the other states, there are six states with less number of female candidates, including West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Assam. The state with the best female and male ratio is Kerala where there are 3.8 female candidates for each male candidate after Goa has (2.8) female candidates. There are six states that have more than two lakh candidates and 53.4% of the total candidate.
