Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan and senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot criticised the government's actions concerning the NEET paper leak controversy. He condemned the filing of an FIR against PCC President Govind Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully, describing it as a sign of the government's frustration. Gehlot said that instead of targeting those who are advocating for justice, the authorities should take action against the culprits responsible for compromising the futures of millions of students.
"The filing of an FIR against PCC President Govind Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tika Ram Jully over the protests regarding the NEET paper leak incident in Kota is a sign of the government's frustration. Instead of taking action against those who have jeopardized the future of millions of children by acknowledging the paper leak, filing an FIR against those seeking justice for them is not appropriate. The Congress party has never been afraid of such fake cases and will not be deterred in its fight for justice," Ashok Gehlot said in a post on X.
Late Monday night, the Kota police booked five Congress MLAs, including Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully and Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Chief Govind Singh Dotasra, as reported by TOI. In two separate cases, the city police also charged a group of 17 Congress members, including the party’s parliamentary candidate Prahlad Gunjal, for inciting crowds and disrupting government functions during the protest.

Dotasra and others are facing charges of inciting a crowd of around 2000 people to forcibly enter the collectorate premises. When they were stopped at barricades, there were allegations of them manhandling policemen and using abusive language. The protest was eventually dispersed using water cannons.
