NEET Row: The CBI conducted searches at seven locations in Gujarat in connection with the NEET UG paper leak case, officials reported on Saturday. The operation began in the morning at the residences of suspects located across four districts: Anand, Kheda, Ahmedabad, and Godhra. CBI on Friday arrested the principal and the vice-principal of a school in Jharkhand's Hazaribagh and a journalist of a Hindi newspaper in connection with the NEET UG paper leak. Ehsanul Haque, the principal of Oasis School, was made the city coordinator of Hazaribagh for the medical entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 5, 2024 the officials said.


The officials stated that Vice-Principal Imtiaz Alam was appointed as the NTA's observer and the center coordinator for Oasis School. Additionally, the CBI is questioning five more individuals from the district about the NEET UG paper leak. As reported by news agency PTI, journalist Jamaluddin Ansari was arrested for allegedly attempting to assist the principal and vice-principal.






The CBI has registered six FIRs in the NEET UG paper leak case, which include its own FIR on a reference from the Union education ministry and five from the states where it took over the investigation. The probe agency has taken over one case each in Bihar and Gujarat and three in Rajasthan.

CBI Lodged Six FIRs In NEET Paper Leak Case


The first CBI FIR was registered on Sunday, a day after the ministry announced it would transfer the investigation of the alleged NEET UG exam irregularities to the central agency. The demand for a CBI probe was raised by a group of students protesting.


In the recent developments, the CBI registered six FIRs related to the NEET-UG paper leak case: one from the Union Education Ministry and five from different states. On Thursday, the CBI made its first arrests in the paper leak case, detaining two people in Patna. Additionally, three candidates in Gujarat, who allegedly sought help to pass the exam, have given their statements to the investigating agency.
