In a significant development in the NEET paper leak case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Rakesh, also known as Rocky, from Jharkhand. He was arrested late in the evening, around 6-7 PM, and presented in a special CBI court in Patna today, where the CBI was granted 10 days' remand for further interrogation.

Rocky, a relative of Sanjeev Mukhia, is suspected to have played a crucial role in the paper leak. He had been on the run until his arrest. The CBI's investigation team had earlier arrested two more suspects, Sunny and Ranjit, on Tuesday. Among the two, one is a NEET examinee and the other is a parent of another examinee. Ranjit was arrested in Gaya, while Sunny was caught in Nalanda. These two were remanded to CBI custody for six days, during which Rocky's location was revealed.

Previously, another suspect, Chintu, had been under CBI remand. It was during Chintu's interrogation that Rocky's involvement came to light. Following Chintu's remand period, he was sent to jail.

The CBI suspects that the paper leak originated from Oasis School in Hazaribagh. The suspicion is that the leaked paper reached Sanjeev Mukhia, who then sent it to Chintu via mobile. Chintu and Rocky allegedly had the NEET papers solved by MBBS students. The solved question papers and answers were then provided to candidates at Learn Play School in Patna by Chintu and Rocky.

The CBI is now using Rocky's arrest to track down the mastermind, Sanjeev Mukhia.

In related developments, the special CBI court has extended the remand of four other accused: Aman, who was arrested in Dhanbad; Ehsanul Haq, the former principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh, Imtiaz, the former vice principal, and journalist Jamaluddin. All four are from Hazaribagh and remain under CBI interrogation.
