The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has reduced the cut-off percentile for NEET PG 2023 across all categories to ‘zero.’ The reduction of the NEET PG 2023 Cut-off percentile comes following approval for the same from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). Following the reduction of the cut-off percentile, the MCC will also open a fresh registration and choice-filling window for the NEET PG Round-3 Counselling 2023 for candidates who have now become eligible for the counselling. The MCC is expected to notify the dates of the fresh round of Round-3 NEET PG Counselling soon.
Notably, the MoHFW wrote a letter to the MCC earlier regarding the reduction of NEET-PG Cut-Off 2023. “I am directed to refer to the above mentioned subject and to say that the recommendation for reduction in the qualifying percentile for post graduate courses for 2023 (NEET PG 2023) has been considered by the ministry. Approval of competent authority is hereby conveyed for reduction of qualifying percentile for NEET PG 2023 to “zero” across all categories,” said Sunil Kumar Gupta, Under Secretary said in the official letter.
Following the letter, the Medical Counselling Committee released an official notice today, announcing the reduction of NEET PG 2023 Cut-Off. "It is for the information to candidates that the qualifying percentile for PG Courses (Medical/ Dental) for NEET PG Counselling 2023 has been reduced to 'ZERO' across all categories by MoHFW," reads the official MCC notice.
With the reduction of NEET PG 2023, and the opening of fresh registration window for the third round, a fresh batch of candidates who appeared for the NEET PG 2023, who would be now eligible, shall be able to register and apply for PG Medical Admissions 2023. However, candidates who have already registered will not have to register again, but such candidates will be able to edit their choices.
“In this regard, it is mentioned that Fresh Registration & Choice Filling for Round-3 of PG Counselling will be opened again for candidates who have become eligible after reduction of percentile. Candidates who have become freshly eligible can register and participate in Round-3 of counselling. The candidates who are already registered need not register again. However, they will be allowed to edit their choices,” the MCC notice states.
“A fresh schedule for Round-3 onwards for PG Counselling will be put up on the MCC website soon. Candidates are advised to be in touch with the MCC website for further updates,” the notice adds further.
