NEET Controversy: The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) sent a notice to Tejashwi Yadav's Private Secretary Pritam Kumar on Friday in connection with the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG exam. Kumar is expected to be investigated soon for allegedly booking a guest house involved in the NEET scam.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha had earlier announced that he would ask Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to suggest a CBI investigation into the possible connections between the main suspect arrested in the NEET "paper leak" case and officials linked to RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, as per an ABP News report.

Pritam Kumar has requested some time for facing investigation regarding his alleged involvement in booking a guest house linked to the NEET UG 2024 scam.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha had earlier claimed that Kumar had booked a room for Sikandar Yadavendu who has been arrested in connection with the NEET UG question paper leak case.

Reacting to Sinha's allegations, Tejashwi Yadav said: "The engineer who is talked about could be a beneficiary but Amit Anand and Nitish Kumar are the masterminds of the paper leak. The people of the country know that whenever BJP comes to power, then paper leaks happen."

"The official associated with Yadav used to arrange accommodation for Sikandar at guest houses in Patna and other places. I have details of messages which the official had sent to the persons concerned for arranging accommodation for Sikandar," the Deputy Chief Minister said.

Last month, the Bihar Police's Economic Offences Wing arrested 13 people linked to a suspected paper leak in the NEET-UG 2024 exam. Among those arrested were six people engaged in cheating during the exam, four students, and three parents.
