New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the answer key of the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET 2020). “The candidates are advised to go through the same ( answer key) and keep themselves ready for challenges of the draft answer keys,” read an official notice by the NTA.

“Please note that this public notice is not for inviting challenge of the keys which will be done later on, and for that proper notice will be issued. Therefore, kindly do not email your responses or clarification regarding the Keys and please wait for the process of raising challenges for the same,” it added.

How to download the answer key

Step 1: Visit the official website - nta.ac.in, under the ‘latest announcements’ tab

Step 2: Click on the ‘NEET answer key 2020’ link on the homepage

Step 3: A document will open, scroll down to check the answer key

Meanwhile, the result can be announced anytime soon. As the exam has been postponed several times, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had said that the result will be declared soon to prevent any further delay in the new session. The result of JEE exam was released within five days and NEET result 2020 is being expected to release by mid-October as there is no official date announced by NTA.

How to reach a tentative assessment

Candidates can reach an assessment of their scores on the basis of the answer key. While tallying answers with the answer key - give four marks for every correct answer and deduct one mark for every incorrect one.

NEET candidates need to score at least 50% to consider themselves as having passed in the exam but the selection is based on merit and counseling will happen after result is declared.

Despite the Covid-19 spread and protests against exams, about 14.37 lakh (over 85 percent) in a total of 15.9 lakh students appeared for the medical entrance exam on September 13.
