The Union Ministry of Education on Sunday, releases the Year End Review for the Department of School Education & Literacy. The review presents key insights on the integration of various government policies and initiatives with the National Education Policy, and the steps taken/ about to be taken to ensure seamless sync with the NEP 2020. The review also underlines the outcome, progress and efficacy of various steps taken by the central government towards strengthening the school education system across the country.
Right from resource allocation, roadmap ahead, to various achievements accomplished under different schemes of the government, the review reflects on the government’s aspirations to thoroughly revise and upgrade the modern education system in the country. The Ministry of Education published the Year End Review through a PIB (Press Information Bureau) release.
The key aspect of the year end review is its presentation of the outreach, implementation, and key objectives of key scheme like the Samagra Shiksha, Provisions for CSWN (Children with Special Needs) Under NEP 2020, Major activities under PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development), and Achievements of the NEP 2020.
The review also draws upon the changes brought in by efforts of inclusive development-oriented education schemes like PM Poshan, ULLAS- Nav Bharat SakshartaKaryakram, Digital Education, Vidyanjali, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Campaign (2022-23), National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme, Development of National Curriculum Framework and Textbook, NISHTHA – Teacher Training, Manodarpan (To address mental health concerns and emotional well-being among students), Contribution in G20, Vocational Education, and others.

- Revised Samagra Shiksha Scheme to be continued till 2025-26 with a total outlay of Rs. 2,94,283.04 crore.
- Samagra Shiksha scheme aligned with the recommendation of the National Education Policy 2020.
- Finalization and circulation of National Guidelines and Implementation Framework on Equitable and Inclusive Education
- Establishment of PARAKH (Performance Assessment, Review, and Analysis of Knowledge for Holistic Development) by the NCERT.
- Launch of Jadui Pitara and Textbooks for Classes I and II, following the recommendations of the NEP 2020.
- Release of National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE).
- Development of School Nutrition Gardens (SNGs) in about 4.11 lakh schools.
- Organisation of various activities under ULLAS: Understanding of Lifelong Learning for All in Society Scheme.
- Launch of National Policy for Promoting Innovations in Schools.
- Onboarding of over 6 lakhs schools and registration of 4.5 lakh volunteers on the Vidyanjali portal benefitting over 60 lakh students.
- Participation of 2 Crore students in regular Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat activities in schools across the country.
- Organisation of G20 Education Working Group Meetings and Exhibitions at Chennai, Amritsar, Bhubaneswar and Pune.
- Sankalp Saptaah’ organised in schools of all 500 Aspirational Blocks.
