Maharashtra Class 10 Exam: Maharashtra Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Varsha Gaikwad on Friday announced that the marks will be allotted to class 10 students on the basis of their performance in classes 9 and 10 examinations conducted by the schools. Earlier, in the light of the covid-19 pandemic, the Maharashtra board had canceled the Maharashtra SSC board exams 2021. 

The Maharashtra Class 10 board exams 2021 were scheduled to be conducted from April 28 to May 21, 2021. 

The board had also postponed the Maharashtra HSC or class 12 board examination due to the prevailing covid-19 situation, However, the board has said that it will review the situation in June 2021 and only then will come to a final decision on Maharashtra class 12 board exams 2021.

Following exams will be used for school-based assessment of class 10 students:

Category of test/exam Maximum marks
Class 10 internal assessment 30 marks
Class 10 Practical exam 20 marks
Class 9 exam 50 marks
TOTAL 100 marks

Most of the state boards have already either postponed or canceled their board exams in view of the rising number of coronavirus cases. Recently, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) have also canceled the class 10th board exams and had postponed the class 12th board exams in light of the pandemic.
