In light of the NEET-UG paper leak controversy, the RSS-affiliated Vidya Bharti has called for reforms in the current competitive examination system to prevent such incidents and reduce candidates' reliance on coaching centers.
During a press conference, D Ramakrishna Rao, chairperson of Vidya Bharti Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Sansthan, voiced his concern over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak. He emphasized the need for an examination system that evaluates candidates' competence, aptitude, attitude, and intelligence quotient, rather than just the memory of candidates appearing for these exams, according to a report on PTI.
Rao suggested that these examinations should be restructured to align with the rigorous standards of institutions like the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), whose examination system is considered foolproof.
He suggested that changes should also be made to the evaluation methods, advocating for the introduction of an open-book examination system for competitive exams aimed at assessing candidates' competence, aptitude, attitude, and intelligence quotient.
