Kerala Class 11 Admission 2021: The admission process in Kerala Plus One will begin from August 16, 2021. Kerala Education Minister V Shivankutty announced the Kerala Plus One admission date in the assembly on Thursday. The official program is expected to be released soon on the HSCAP's website hscap.kerala.gov.in. Significantly, Kerala SSLC's passing percentage this year has been 99.47%. So students are tense about admission to Plus One.

Students will have to register online for admission to class 11:

Students who have passed the Kerala SSLC Examination 2021 or equivalent Class 10 examination from schools affiliated to the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, DHSE Kerala/ Junior colleges are eligible to apply for admission to class 11. Students will have to register online using their SSLC registration number and submit details.

Admission will be given on the basis of the merit list:

Once the application is received on the HSCAP or Higher Secondary Common Admission Portal, the merit list will be prepared. Seat allotment will be done on the basis of merit and choice of students. A trial allotment list will be released first followed by the first and second allotment lists. The whole process will be online.

Controversy over reservation quota in plus one:

It may be recalled that concerns have also been raised about reservation quota in plus one. In fact, in 2020, 58% of the seats for specific units were reserved. The Supreme Court has firmly established that reservation cannot exceed 50%. Hence, the government is now reconsidering the overall quota percentage. A file in this regard has also been handed over to the Chief Minister by the Education Minister.

Meanwhile, HSCAP plus one admission process is awaiting updates on the 2021 schedule. Notifications and details will be published online on hscap.kerala.gov.in. Parents and students are advised to keep an eye on the official website.
