New Delhi: The Punjab government on Wednesday recruited medical specialists in various fields. Selected candidates received the appointment letter by Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Punjab, Balbir Singh Sidhu.
The recruitment drive was conducted to fill 128 vacancies of medical specialists in various fields, out of which, 41 vacancies were filled in the Microbiology field, 21 in E.N.T, 13 in Community Medicine,17 in Pathology, 11 in Psychiatry, 13 in Ophthalmologists, 19 in General Surgery, 6 in Skin and V.D.,10 in Forensic Medicine, and 4 in B.T.O discipline fields respectively.
"Today distributed appointment letters to 128 Medical specialists under the 'Ghar Ghar Rozgar Yojna' of the Punjab Government. Around 11,500 vacancies have already been filled under different categories in Health deptt. to upgrade the quality health services in Govt. Hospitals," Balbir Singh Sidhu tweeted on Wednesday.
Last month, the Delhi government had announced that it will train 5000 youths as health assistants noting the shortage of medical & paramedical staff. During a press conference, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal informed of its ambitious plan and talked about how it is preparing for an expected third wave. “Keeping that in mind, the government has made a grand ambitious plan to prepare 5,000 health assistants. In technical terms, they are called ‘Community Nursing Assistants’,” he announced.
