The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has cancelled the exam for one paper of the JSSC CGL Exam 2024 conducted on January 28, 2024. The cancellation of the exam comes following an alleged question paper leak of the exam paper. The JSSC notified the cancellation of the JSSC CGL 2024 through an official notice on its website.

“The exam paper held in the third shift of the Jharkhand General Combined Graduate Level Exam 2023 held on January 28, 2024 (General Knowledge Exam Paper) has been cancelled due to unforeseen reasons,” reads the official notice on JSSC website. In its notice, the jJSC also stated that the revised dates of the examination shall be notified soon to registered candidates in due course of time.

Reportedly, students who gathered in the state capital Ranchi on Sunday, also staged a protest outside the state library main road alleging that answers for the third General Knowledge Exam Paper of the JSSC CGL Exam 2023 were doing rounds on WhatsApp groups since Saturday evening.

With the surfacing of the JSSC CGL Paper Leak, the matter has quickly caught political attention as well with former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi, who heads BJP’s Jharkhand unit at the moment, has demanded for a CBI investigation into the matter.

“Many students have released the answer sheets on social media. Also, the issue of question papers being released before the examination is also coming to the fore on WhatsApp. This examination conducted by the state government has come under the ambit of corruption. This matter should be investigated by CBI. Jharkhand government is playing with the youth. The entire examination reeked of corruption. Due to fear of getting entangled in legal action, the youth are not able to raise their voice against the corruption in this examination,” the office of Babulal Marandi said through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Notably, the JSSC is conducting the JSSC CGL Exam 2023 to fill over 2,000 vacancies for various Group-B and Group-C posts in several departments of the Jharkhand government. The shortlisting of candidates for the recruitment is to be done through a multistage selection process consisting of a two-stage written examination: Prelims and Mains, followed by document verification. For more details on the JSSC CGL Recruitment Exam, candidates are advised to visit the official website.
