The Bar Council of India (BCI) has released the BCI 19th Qualifying Exam Schedule. Indian nationals who have completed their law degree from foreign institutions, and seek to practice law in India may note that the BCI 19th Qualifying Exams will be held from December 18 to December 23, 2023. Candidates may further note that the BCI 19th qualifying exams will consist of a total of six papers. The papers include: Constitution of India, Contract law and Negotiable Instruments Act, Company Law, Civil Procedure Code and Limitation Act, Criminal Procedure Code, and The Indian Legal Profession and Code of Ethics.
Furthermore, the BCI qualifying exams will be held inside the Bar Council Of India premises at 21, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area, New Delhi-110002. The BCI exam for all the papers will have a maximum time duration of three hours, beginning at 11:00 am, and ending at 01:00 pm. Each of the papers shall contain 100 marks each.
Candidates may further note that they will be allowed to carry Bare acts and books, including question answer guides, notes and others inside the exam hall for the Constitution of India, Contract law and Negotiable Instruments Act, and Company Law papers.
However, for the Civil Procedure Code and Limitation Act, Criminal Procedure Code, and The Indian Legal Profession and Code of Ethics papers, candidates will be allowed to carry only individual bare acts (not digests) with least short notes inside the examination hall.
