223 Job Offers In Campus Placements For IIT Patna: Ray Of Hope During Pandemic

Despite the Covid pandemic, students of IIT Patna received 223 job offers in campus placement.

Despite the Covid pandemic, students of the Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (IIT Patna) 2020-2021 received 223 job offers. The number of placements this year is better than the 202 placements last year IIT Patna has said in a statement that this session has the highest number of offers.

The number of job offers may increase 
IIT Patna added that the internship season is still ongoing, and the number is expected to rise further. An official statement from IIT Patna said that the ongoing placement session saw more than 50 new recruiters across multiple domains including consulting analytics, e-commerce, IT and software.

BTech and MTech Students were offered the highest package
This year BTech and MTech students were offered the highest package of Rs 54.57 lakh per annum and Rs 52.50 lakh per annum. The IIT statement said that the maximum placements were done under the Information Technology (IT) sector, followed by the core sector. The jobs were mainly given in the areas of Software Engineering, Technology Consulting, Analytics, Research and Development, Graduate Engineering Trainee, Data Engineering, and Associate Engineering.  

These companies participated in campus placement
Many companies have also converted interns into full-time employees. The institute has seen a 45 percent increase in internship offers or pre-placement offers (PPOs). As against 57 at the end of last season, 83 BTech students got internship offers on campus, which shows an increase of 45 percent. The recruiters for the internship include DE Shaw, CodeNation, Google India, Comvault, Goldman Sachs, Intel, iRage Capital, NewJera, Samsung Bangalore, and Media.net.
