JEE Mains 2021: Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal on Tuesday announced that he will be sharing information regarding the two remaining sessions of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains 2021. In view of the rising number of the covid-19 cases across the country, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had postponed the April and May sessions of the JEE Mains 2021 examination. 


Pokhriyal on his official Twitter handle writes, "Dear Students, For which you all were waiting for a long time, I will wish you all today at 7:00 pm.#JEE I will inform you about the information related to the third and fourth stage examination."



This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had decided to conduct the JEE Main 2021 examination in 4 sessions. The first session was held from February 23 to 26, 2021. The second session was conducted from March 15 to 18, 2021, followed by the third session, which was scheduled to be held from April 27 to 30, 2021. The fourth session was scheduled to be held from May 24 to 28, 2021. However, the third and fourth session was later deferred in wake of the covid-19 pandemic. 


This year, the JEE Main examination is being conducted in 13 languages -- Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, English, and Gujarati. 


Earlier, the Ministry of Education had decided to waive off the minimum 75 percent marks that candidates need to score in their class 12 exams to be eligible for NITs, IIITs, SPAs, and other Central Funded Technical Institutes, whose admissions are based on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)(Main). The decision was taken as a one time measure only for the academic year 2021-22.
