A total of 160 pre-placement offers were made to students giving an opportunity to work as an Intern before getting a full-time placement offer, out of which 90 were accepted. And if one has to add these pre-placement offers then the total number of offers crosses the 1000 mark.
43 students bagged International Job offers in the US, Europe, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, etc, however, only 33 students accepted these offers.
IIT Delhi, though, did not divulge details on the highest package, average package offered to students, etc so as to not jeopardize national placements over international ones, as well as to reduce peer pressure amongst students of various groups.
The record breaking jobs galore can be credited to a 15% rise in the number of institutions visiting IIT, Delhi this year. “The efforts of the entire placement team, comprising staff, student coordinators and volunteers, coupled with the positive reaction from industry this year, has translated into these robust hiring numbers” stated Anishya Madan, Industry Liaison Officer (T&P), IIT Delhi.
IIT Delhi Placements 2019 Phase-II is yet to carry on till May 2019, so the number of offers will see a further rise.
On another note, IIT Bombay has hit a new record by becoming the Numero Uno institution of India in the latest QS World University Rankings 2019, fetching the coveted title from IIT Delhi.
