The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow has partnered with the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur to launch a joint postgraduate programme in Healthcare Management. This collaboration seeks to address the growing demand for leadership in the healthcare sector by combining management expertise with cutting-edge medical technology.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Prof. Archana Shukla, Director of IIM Lucknow, and Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, in the presence of senior faculty members from both institutes. Notable attendees from IIM Lucknow included Prof. Kshitij Awasthi, Associate Professor of Strategic Management, and Prof. Girish Balasubramanian, Assistant Professor of Human Resource Management, while IIT Kanpur was represented by Prof. Jayandharan G. Rao, Associate Dean of Research & Development, and Prof. Sandeep Verma, Head of the Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology.
Prof. Archana Shukla expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "This joint programme combines the strengths of both management and technology to address the complex challenges faced by the healthcare industry. We believe it will lead to innovative solutions that can greatly enhance healthcare management in India and beyond."
The Postgraduate programme in Healthcare Management is designed for professionals from various sectors, including healthcare workers and doctors in public hospitals. It will integrate expertise in medical technology with business administration, enabling participants to lead advancements in healthcare delivery and innovation.
Prof. Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, emphasized the importance of the collaboration, noting, "This partnership is a significant milestone in our mission to reshape healthcare education. The joint postgraduate programme in Healthcare Management is central to our Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology initiative, which aims to fuse medical technology and innovation into our curriculum.
