- Examination Pattern:
The Preliminary Exam will carry 100 questions of 1 mark each and will be divided into 3 sections viz:
- English Language – 30 questions, 30 marks, 20 minutes
- Numerical Ability – 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes
- Reasoning Ability – 35 questions, 35 marks, 20 minutes
- Reporting
IBPS has already released the Call Letters for the online examination, and candidates must appear at the allocated examination centre before the reporting time mentioned on the Call Letter as candidates reporting 30 minutes after the reporting time will not be permitted to enter the Examination Hall.
- ID Proof:
Besides Call Letter, candidates must also carry a an original valid photo identity proof along with its photocopy viz Passport/PAN Card/ Driving License/Voter’s Card/Bank passbook with photograph/Photo Identity Proof issued by a Gazetted Officer (on official letterhead) or Photo Identity Proof issued by a People’s Representative (on official letterhead)/Identity card issued by a recognised college/University/Aadhar card with photograph, etc.
- Barred Items
Candidates are allowed to carry only pencils, erasers and a ball point pen. They must not carry any stationary item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Log Table, Electronic Pen/Scanner, Any communication device like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band etc. Other items like Goggles, Handbags, Hair-pin, Hair-band, Belt, Cap, Any watch/Wrist Watch, Camera, Any metallic item, Any eatable item opened or packed, water bottle, Any other item which could be used for unfair means for hiding communication devices like camera, blue tooth devices etc.
- Attempting the Exam
It’s prudent to begin with your pet section to gain maximum marks. However, remember you have to secure a minimum score on each of the tests in order to qualify for Mains.
